Cube Reference

There are seven different cubes within the game, but only three of these cube types can be fired on the board. Cubes with multiple color potential can be one of the following six colors: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Purple.

Normal Cubes

The Normal cube is the standard cube within the game. When fired on the board, it will push a movable target cube back one square and take the target's original position. If the movable target cube does not have a grid space behind it, the Normal cube will simply come to rest in front of the target cube.

Normal cubes are the primary cubes that reside on a board and can fracture under the right circumstances.

  • Colors: Multiple
  • Can be fired on board? Yes
  • Can reside on board? Yes. You will encounter these cubes most frequently in levels.
  • Base points for removal: 30
  • Special behavior: Pushes movable target cubes one square, if the target cube has a grid space behind it.

Star Cubes

The Star cube is a high-point normal cube that cannot be fired on the board. Star cubes are usually strategically placed in levels to increase level difficulty for higher points. Star cubes never fracture but can be pushed.

  • Colors: Multiple
  • Can be fired on board? No
  • Can reside on board? Yes
  • Base points for removal: 700
  • Special behavior: Worth many more points than normal cubes.

Wedge Cubes

The Wedge cube is a special cube that can be fired on the board to raise movable cubes into columns. When fired on the board, the Wedge forces its way underneath the target cube raising the movable target cube, then changes to a Normal cube. All cubes retain their original colors.

If the Wedge cube hits a cube column of maximum height (three cubes high), the Wedge reverts to the behavior of a Normal cube and simply comes to rest in front of the target. The Wedge never pushes other cubes horizontally.

  • Can be fired on board? Yes
  • Can reside on board? Yes, but it changes to a normal cube at rest.
  • Base points for removal: 30
  • Special behavior: If the target cube is part of a column less than 3 cubes high, the Wedge slides under the target cube.

Osmosis Cubes

Similar to the Wedge cube, the Osmosis cube is a special cube that can be fired on the board to raise movable cubes into columns. However, unlike the Wedge cube, the Osmosis cube is 1) absorbed into the target cube, 2) changes the target cube's color to that of the Osmosis cube, and 3) exits the target cube to rest on top of the target cube. Both cubes are now the same color and remain as separate, stacked cubes for future interaction.

If the Osmosis cube hits a cube column of maximum height (three cubes high), the Osmosis cube reverts to the behavior of a normal cube and simply comes to rest in front of the target. The Osmosis cube never pushes other cubes horizontally.

  • Can be fired on board? Yes
  • Can reside on board? Yes, but it changes to a normal cube at rest.
  • Base points for removal: 30
  • Special behavior: If the target cube is part of a column less than 3 cubes high, the Osmosis cube changes the target cube's color and ends up on top of the target cube. If absorbed into a Fractured cube, the Osmosis cube converts the Fractured cube into a Normal cube.

Fractured Cubes

A Normal cube on the board will crack to become a Fractured cube when one of the following occurs: 1) The Normal cube falls from the top of a three cube (maximum-height) column to the board base without being removed from the board. 2) The Normal cube falls from the middle of a maximum-height column to the board base without it and the cube above it being removed from the board.

Any Normal cube fired at a Fractured cube will crush the Fractured cube and continue unimpeded by the Fractured cube. If not hit by a Normal cube, a Fractured cube can make part of a chain. If absorbed into a Fractured cube, the Osmosis cube converts Fractured cube into a Normal cube. Fractured cubes may be part of a level's initial level setup.

  • Can be fired on board? No
  • Can reside on board? Yes
  • Base points for removal: 30
  • Special behavior: Disintegrates when hit by a Normal cube. Can be converted back to a normal cube by an Osmosis cube.

Immovable Cubes

As the name suggests, Immovable cubes cannot be moved and serve to create level barriers to increase the complexity of gameplay. Immovable cubes can be destroyed by laser cubes. If stacked, Immovable cubes do not fall when cubes below them are removed.

  • Can be fired on board? No
  • Can reside on board? Yes
  • Base points for removal: 30
  • Special behavior: Can be removed only by laser cubes. Not susceptible gravity.

Laser Cubes

The Laser cube itself is not launched but instead transforms itself into a laser pulse and destroys ANY type of target cube that it hits. It only destroys one target cube.

  • Can be fired on board? Yes, but it only emits a laser pulse and is not actually shot on to the board.
  • Can reside on board? No
  • Base points for removal: Determined by the cube removed, if any.
  • Special behavior: Removes ONE cube of any type from the board.
